About the event

This training programme is designed to allow pharmacists to become accredited providers of the Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP). Only accredited pharmacists may sell the ECP.

Pharmacists who are ALREADY ECP accredited may enrol for the refresher webinar at a special rate (accreditation status will be checked). Click here to go to the refresher webinar registration page.

This course is provided by College Education and Training, a business unit of Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand Inc.

Presented by:

Dr Christine Roke, Family Planning Association

Course Information:

Only pharmacists who are accredited by the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand are able to supply the Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) without prescription. College Education and Training provides the training programme which allows pharmacists to become accredited providers of the ECP.

Interns are only able to register and undertake the ECP training course after they have attended Assessment Centre. However, even after an intern successfully completes the course, registration must be successfully attained in order to become an accredited provider of the ECP with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.

This enrolment is for the Live Webinar only. Fee includes all material, assessment, and certificate of accreditation.

Course materials will be available online. You will be required to:

  • Read the materials and consider the cases and scenarios.
  • Listen to the Live Webinar.
  • Complete the Assessment Questions, Parts A and B. Assessments will be completed online using My Learning on the Pharmaceutical Society Website.

Assessment:

Pharmacists must achieve an 80% pass mark in both sections of the assessment in order to attain accreditation. Once accreditation has been attained a Certificate of Completion of Training will be forwarded.

One learning package must be purchased for each individual accreditation.
