Pharmacist of the Year

Nominations are open for Pharmacist of the Year.

The Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand (PSNZ) Award recognises achievement of an individual pharmacist who has given outstanding service to the profession and the wider health system.

PSNZ President Rhiannon Braund expects this year’s awards to be hotly contended.

“There was incredible work last year across the motu. We saw some amazing work in response to Cyclone Gabrielle. We also know there are pharmacists out there taking part in projects to reduce harms from medication. We know pharmacists are creating innovative ways to increase medicines access within their communities. The field of work diverse and so I’m looking forward to seeing that reflected in the nominations.”

The award was established by PSNZ in 2012.

Award nominees can be from any of the pharmacy sectors including community, hospital, primary care, and non-patient facing roles, but must be a Society Member.

The panel of judges will soon be assembled.

The judges are looking for nominees who raise the profile and role of the pharmacist, provides a model of practice that others strive to emulate, and have consistently demonstrated excellence in professional clinical pharmacy practice by providing high quality pharmacy services that improve patient outcomes.
