Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern thanks pharmacists

At the end of her daily COVID-19 briefing on 31 March New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern thanked community pharmacists.

“I have received a lot of correspondence from the relatives of pharmacists, reminding me and all of us of the front-line role their family members are playing, as we fight to stop the spread of COVID-19 and to keep our communities well.

“We thank our community pharmacies spread across New Zealand for continuing to provide such an essential service at this time, especially as they also support our medical and nursing workforce in the early flu vaccination campaign for our most vulnerable New Zealanders.”

The Prime Minister also thanked pharmacists for “adapting to Alert Level 4” requirements, providing virtual services and practising physical distancing.

“From all of us, we say thank you.”
