Dr Anna Fenton

Dr ANNA FENTON is a Gynaecological Endocrinologist. She is currently the clinical leader for the Canterbury District Health Board Bone Density Service. Anna is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. She has special interests in the management of premature ovarian insufficiency and the treatment of women after gynaecological cancer. She ran the Gynae-Endocrine clinic at Christchurch Women’s Hospital for 15 years which provides one of the few publicly funded clinics for women with polycystic ovary syndrome. She also serves on the PTAC Endocrine sub-committee.

Course Information:

On completion of this course, pharmacists will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of polycystic ovary syndrome as a medical problem
  • Explain the pathophysiology of polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Describe the changing impact of PCOS over a woman’s lifetime
  • Describe the criteria for diagnosing polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Recognise the different presentations of PCOS
  • Explain the variety of evidence-based treatment options available to manage PCOS

Assessment:

Pharmacists must achieve an 80% pass mark in order to complete the course.

One learning package must be purchased for each individual to complete the course.

Group 1: TWO points – for listening to the webinar but not doing the assessment, or

Group 2: TBC points – for completion and submission of assessment questions (80% pass mark required).

Pre reading is not assessed. Allocate Group 1 points based on one point per hour.
