This Community Pharmacy Gout Management Service Accreditation Training has been developed for pharmacists who have a Contract with Te Whatu Ora to provide the Community Pharmacy Gout Management Service.

To provide this service, your pharmacy must have a contract and pharmacists must work within the specified Service Specifications and under a Standing Order from their Medical Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner. The Standing Order enables pharmacists who have completed this training to dose escalate allopurinol to treatment targets for enrolled patients.

If you do not have a Contract and are interested in providing this service, you can enrol in this course. However, achieving your accreditation alone does not allow you to provide the service. If you are interested in obtaining a contract, please contact your District Pharmacy Portfolio Manager.
