Marie Bennett

Marie is a practicing community pharmacist who has worked in the pharmacy profession for over 45 years. As the owner of All Seasons Pharmacy for 32 years in West Auckland, Marie could put into action her passion for the development of new patient centred models of care. She has been involved in the development of many innovative, integrated, and collaborative pharmacy services including medicines use review, smoking cessation, CPAMS, and provision of sildenafil and piloted many other services.

She has served as a Pharmacy Guild board member, a member of the Pharmacy Council, sat on many DHB advisory groups including the Smokefree Advisory, the Safe Use of Medicines, and the Community Pharmacy Advisory Group. She has been a preceptor pharmacist to over a dozen interns, a training pharmacist for the Evolve programme, provided input, and presented for the Pharmaceutical Society at numerous events, supported and mentored pharmacy university students and interns, trained and assessed pharmacists and lead change by providing strong, collaborative, multidisciplinary relationships with other health providers to support patients.

She enjoys developing and leading new models of care with a hands-on approach with a strong community focus and advocating for pharmacists to be the best they can be and developed and utilised to the top of their skill set as integral members of the healthcare workforce. She was awarded a Fellowship of the Pharmaceutical Society in 2013.

Brooke McKay

Brooke is an enthusiastic community pharmacist who has already been successful in her 10-year career. She became a community pharmacy owner in Upper Hutt at the age of 25. Her pharmacy employs 22 staff, so she understands the challenges facing pharmacy owners.

Brooke has been a past Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand branch president for three years and a branch committee member for eight years. She is a board member for the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand and a national executive member for The Pharmaceutical Society, she has been both an intern and PACT preceptor. She is passionate about pharmacist consultation services, vaccinations and embracing tikanga Māori and Te reo Māori and enabling all pharmacists.


Pharmacists who complete this learning activity will be able to:
