Presented By - Sam McBride

Dr Sam McBride is a consultant psychiatrist and addiction specialist at Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disabilities Service, Wellington, New Zealand. His roles include Clinical Lead and Lead Clinician for Opioid Treatment Services. He is the Director of Advanced Training for Addiction Psychiatry and a faculty representative in Addiction Psychiatry at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

This webinar will cover the history and evidence base of opioid substitution and how it is implemented in NZ. Sam will go on to talk about the patient assessment process, initiation of treatment, the risks, benefits and clinical issues involved and how these are best managed.
