Introduction to Laboratory Results Programme - new for 2017

As more pharmacists become involved with analysing patient blood results, it is imperative that pharmacists can accurately interpret results and know what could be affect them.

Join this Programme to become familiar with common laboratory tests, interpretation and how some medication can affect blood results.

This Programme will include webinars, readings and assessments.

To begin in April 2017.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Training Programme - Online

We have had such positive feedback on the content and learning from this Programme that we are running this Programme again in 2017!

COPD is the fourth leading cause of death and it’s often undiagnosed. It’s estimated that 15% of the adult population is affected.

Join this 8 week Programme to learn about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (pencilled to run in the first half of 2017).

This COPD Programme consists of 4 online modules which will take 8 weeks to complete part time.

MODULE 1 - Diagnosis, prevalence, progression, coexisting conditions, symptoms.

MODULE 2 - Current inhaler therapies

MODULE 3 - Management, oxygen, pharmacological and non pharmacological such as pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise, nutrition, psychological support. Identifying end stage COPD and role of palliative care.

MODULE 4 - Final Case Study assessment

Enrolees are also required to contribute to all online forums.

Presented by: Dr Bronwen Rhodes and Dr Conroy Wong

All participants will need to achieve 80% to successfully complete this Programme. This learning will be an excellent foundation for your next ENHANCE Group 3 Goal!

Law and Ethics Programme - Online

We have had such positive feedback on the content, format of content and relevance to practice that we are running this Programme again in 2017!

Learning Objectives:

On completion of this module participants will be able to:

  • Describe how different Acts, Regulations and Codes relate to NZ pharmacy practice.
  • Explain the relationship between Acts, Regulations and Codes relevant to NZ pharmacy practice.
  • Identify and interpret Acts, Regulations and Codes relevant to NZ pharmacy practice.
  • Apply relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes to NZ pharmacy practice scenarios.

Presented by Kate Farquharson, Professional Practice Fellow at the School of Pharmacy, University of Otago.
