Through the leadership of antimicrobial stewardship/infectious diseases pharmacists, for World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) this year DHB public hospitals have united on an initiative to improve documentation of the indication on prescriptions for antimicrobials.
The resources have been developed generically so they can be used in a range of settings beyond DHB hospitals, and outside WAAW. For example, they could be used in organisations such as private hospitals, aged residential care facilities and other primary care practices.
