College Education and Training
College Education and Training is dedicated to excellence in the profession through the provision of professional development programmes for pharmacists. Pharmacists are expected to assess themselves against the Competence Standards for Pharmacy for the issue of Annual Practising Certificates. College Education and Training provides courses and programmes to assist pharmacists to meet their learning goals and achieve these competencies.
Key strategic objectives are to maximise involvement in professional development and to develop and improve resources to deliver professional development.

College Education and Training offers flexible learning formats to suit your requirements. All of our learning is delivered through your "My Learning" platform. You can choose to attend live webinars (which are conducted over ZOOM) where you can ask questions directly to our presenters, or you may choose to complete our learning "On Demand" where a recording of a presentation is provided and you can undertake learning in your own time.
Programmes are more involved learning on a topic and the form of presentation may include a series of webinars presented across 8-10 weeks. The form of assessment tends to be a blend of assignments, multichoice questions, reflective learning or case studies so you can learn about the topic more in depth.
Some Programmes are presented in a workshop format, where participants attend a specific venue and participate in a training day. There are various reasons why a course may be run as a workshop, but the most common is due to a large amount of content being delivered and where face-to-face participation is required to gain the appropriate experience required to provide a service e.g. The Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (PACT) training workshops.
