Post Earthquake update

Everyone at the Society extends their warm wishes and support to those members, their staff and families affected by the earthquakes in the early hours of Monday November 14.

Our heartfelt support goes particularly to our pharmacy colleagues in Kaikoura and the wider medical community there who have been working around the clock to support their local community.

We are currently in communication with the local Pharmacy Group and DHB and can advise that they have relief pharmacy staff organised.

Fortunately the Society's premises were unaffected and staff returned to work on Tuesday 15 November after a structural engineering inspection to confirm the building was sound.

Our colleagues at the Guild returned to work on Wednesday 16 November. Their building is also unaffected and they report it is business as usual including a continuation of their roadshow series.

At the time of writing the Pharmacy Council's offices are closed until further notice as they are still waiting for the building engineers report, post earthquake. If you have an emergency or urgent enquiry you can contact Michael Pead the Chief Executive on 021 395 889

In Wellington there are currently 60 buildings closed for inspection, repair or demolition. The most badly affected area is reclaimed land close to Centre Port.

GNS are predicting the continuation of after shocks for some time to come and we will keep you updated if there is any further disruption to our services.

In the meantime please feel free to call on us if we can assist you in any way.

Just a note that our monthly e-Edge newsletter will be distributed in the last week in November this month.
