About the event

This course is provided by College Education and Training, a business unit of Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand Inc.


David Woods is an independent pharmaceutical consultant with extensive experience in pharmacy, education, medicines information and clinical pharmacy practice. He was previously involved with the postgraduate program at the School of Pharmacy, University of Otago and participated in the medicines information papers since their inception.

As a contractor David has worked with BPAC on various projects including management of the initial development and publication of the New Zealand Formulary.David works as an adviser and educator on rational medicines use and clinical pharmacy in several other countries including Oman, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Lithuania. He is currently involved with pharmacovigilance research at BPAC and the New Zealand Pharmacovigilance Centre and works in practice as a clinical pharmacist in a multidisciplinary pain clinic.David also has an interest in drug allergy and clinical decision support and developed the prototype data set for implementation into electronic prescribing systems in New Zealand. He is involved with research projects to identify the propensity for adverse events from electronic medical records.

ENHANCE Group 2 points are measured in "points per hour of learning" and will be confirmed on completion of the programme.

Note: Readings are not assessed. You may allocate 1 Group 1 point per hour of learning for readings.

80% Assessment Pass Percentage must be attained for completion.Pharmacists must achieve a pass mark in all assessments in order to attain completion. Marking will commence after the closing date for assignments and completion advised thereafter (as these require manual marking). The final due date for all assignments is the 18th September 2020.

One learning package must be purchased for each individual.
