Learning Objectives:

On completion of this course on Paediatric Asthma, pharmacists will be able to:

  • Describe the disparities in asthma care in New Zealand
  • Compare the differences in management between pre-school and school age asthma and wheeze
  • Identify the need for inhaler device teaching in all healthcare settings

Presented by: Dr David McNamara

Dr McNamara is a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine specialist. He is the Clinical Leader of the Respiratory Service at Starship Children's Hospital and is involved in the development of national guidelines for asthma management in children. His special interests are asthma and obstructive sleep apnoea.

Assessment:

Pharmacists must achieve an 80% pass mark in order to complete the course.

One learning package must be purchased for each individual to complete the course.

Group 1: TWO points – for listening to the webinar but not doing the assessment, or

Group 2: FOUR points – for completion and submission of assessment questions (80% pass mark required).

Pre reading is not assessed. Allocate Group 1 points based on one point per hour.
