Overseas trained Technicians/Pharmacists
Overseas qualified pharmacy staff, either technicians or pharmacists, may seek and obtain work as pharmacy technicians or trainee technicians in NZ provided they meet the criteria set out in the NZ Medicines Regulations.
This requires that you either already hold the NZ technician qualification or are in a training programme to achieve it.
Technician qualifications are available at both levels 4 and 5 on the NZ framework and you may find that your existing qualification allows some exemptions against certain parts of these qualifications. The level 4 qualification is a prerequisite to the level 5 and is the minimum standard required to work as a Pharmacy Technician.
