THE VOICE OF PHARMACY
The Pharmaceutical Society currently represents the interests pharmacists to the government, other health professionals and the general public. Without the duty of registration and discipline, we are now able to become a far more vocal advocate for pharmacy – and ensure our profession’s contribution to the health sector is valued.
The Society has the only continuing professional development programme currently accredited by the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand for demonstrating competence to gain your Annual Practising Certificate.
ENHANCE provides the official framework and professional development guidelines to ensure you acquire or update key skills to get your Annual Practising Certificate. The package includes a two hour training session on how to best use the ENHANCE framework, a comprehensive folder that enables you to plan and monitor your continuing education plus provision for personal feedback and advice from ENHANCE providers at the Society. ENHANCE is provided free to full members of the Pharmaceutical Society of NZ (Inc).
THE COLLEGE OF PHARMACISTS
The College was launched in 1990 and has fulfilled the Society’s past statutory obligation to provide continuing education. It has provided over 20 courses to over 1,500 pharmacists annually. Courses are carefully planned and selected both in terms of your continuing education needs and to fit seamlessly with the ENHANCE framework. Now, you can join the College and the annual fee is included with full membership of the Society – so you will be entitled to include the added qualification of ANZCP.
Our team provides the latest in legislative, clinical and professional advice. This may be through our regular newsletter THE EDGE, by e-fax or via our new website, and if more immediate advice is needed, by phone. We are here to provide the support and practical advice you need in your day to day work.
