Jason Dhana
Jason is an Auckland-based optometrist who splits his week between ophthalmology (ADHB) and clinical optometry teaching (University of Auckland). After completion of his BOptom (Hons) in 2007, he gained valuable experience before returning to study his MSc (Hons) which he completed in 2016. His major for this clinical specialisation was glaucoma. Jason enjoys teaching, and his clinical interests lie in emergency eye care and glaucoma management.
Course Information:
On completion of this course on Glaucoma, pharmacists will be able to:
- Explain glaucoma pathophysiology and its consequences if left untreated
- Describe the concepts regarding various types of glaucoma
- Identify and explain ocular and systemic side effects of anti-glaucoma medications
- Recognise the goals of treatment and the decision-making processes behind choice of anti-glaucoma medication
- Identify red flags and contraindications to anti-glaucoma medication use
Assessment:
Pharmacists must achieve an 80% pass mark in order to complete the course.
One learning package must be purchased for each individual to complete the course.
Group 1: TWO point – for listening to the webinar but not doing the assessment, or
Group 2: FOUR points – for completion and submission of assessment questions (80% pass mark required).
Pre reading is not assessed. Allocate Group 1 points based on one point per hour.
